Sewer

The City of West Wendover provides the sewer service in the community.   Initially the system operated by the waste water being brought to a three-pond evaporating operation that was build in 1986 by Elko County.   In 1993 the City of West Wendover completed construction on a state-of-the-art water reclamation facility.   Currently this is the system, which is in operation.   The water reclamation facility provides reclaimed water for irrigation purposes in the community, which include uses at the public golf course, schools and parks and recreation facilities.   This reclaimed water meets all state and national guidelines and is sold at a discount well below the cost of potable water.   The facility has received recent upgrades that have increased the flow to well over 100,000,000 gallons per year.
