The community of West Wendover contains both City Owned/Operated Utilities as well as Privately Owned/Operated Utilities both serving the needs of the public at large.
The Privately Owned/Operated Utilities operate under the authority and licensing of the Nevada Public Utilities Commission puc.nv.gov.
The City's Public Works & Utilities are under the direction of Public Works Director Raul Naranjo. The Department includes several divisions: Public Works, Streets, Water, Waste Water/ReUse and Garbage/Compost/Landfill operations.
The Public Works Department holds responsibility for general public facilities including street/roadway infrastructure, public street snow removal, public storm drainage and waterways, the city's vehicle fleet as well as general oversight of various public utility construction projects and finally the maintenance and janitorial work for city owned properties and facilities.
The Public Works Department takes great pride in helping the community to be environmentally friendly and is committed to excellence in serving the customers of the City.
The Public Works Director along with the City Manager also oversee the Johnson Springs Transmission System which is owned by both West Wendover, Nevada and Wendover, Utah and managed by West Wendover The Johnson Springs Transmission System water resource facilities include: Johnson Springs, the Shafter Well Field, Pequop Wells and other facilities which produce and transmit culinary water to the community.
:NOTICE - RESIDENTIAL TIPPING STATION DAYS/HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday through Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm except posted holidays
Customers (Residents and Commercial) must check in at the Public Works Office prior to use of the Tipping Station
